Players can unlock Aetherial Reduction by completing the level 56 quest No Longer a Collectable.Players can unlock Collectables by completing the level 50 quest Inscrutable Tastes.Ephemeral Nodes are active for four Eorzean Time / in-game hours. Another difference is that Ephemeral Nodes spawn in clusters of 3, and will continually respawn like normal nodes as long as it's still within the time window. Unlike Unspoiled Nodes and Folklore Nodes, Ephemeral Nodes do not get called out on the minimap with a direction indicator, so players will need to use Lay of the Land or Arbor Call to locate them. As for the Crystals and Clusters acquired, they will normally be the same type as the ones already gatherable from the node. Each particular Collectable can only reduce into one kind of aethersand. The type of aethersand you get upon Aetherial Reduction depends on the item you reduce. They convert into crystals, clusters, and varying types of aethersand. Pretty painful, considering the new pots, and certainly all the new foods that will be using them for the next year or two.See also: Folklore Nodes and Aetherial ReductionĬollectable items gathered from Ephemeral Nodes are used for Aetherial Reduction. Need a specific aethersand ? Now you just wait, and look at the clock until it pops. It was already painful enough to teleport from a zone to another for hours to chase the nodes, now we can't even do that anymore. I can't say I'm happy to see the Dusklight and Dawnlight being locked behind zones + time. This is probably just as efficient as throwing the 600GP in one blow and then stand doing nothing for 3 minutes, especially if you can afford some cordials.Ībout my own feelings about the 4.0 ephemeral nodes : It doesn't look much on paper, but that means a +20 GP per minute, aka 60 GP per Eorzean hour, a total of 240 free GP over an ephemeral window. The GP regen ticks every 3 seconds, and refill your GP by 6, instead of 5. The standard rotation with Discerning Eye > Impulsive, and then decide between Single Mind / DE, depending on proc.ĭuring downtime, when you are anywhere between 200 and 400 GP, try your luck with Impulsive, you might get a chance to proc /crit.īased on the new Trait for GP regen (job quest 70), I tend to pick the 400 GP one. More attempts, but slower GP regen : Uses 600 GP. Less attempts, but faster GP regen : Uses 400 GP - DE - MA - DE - MA - MA (or IA) Rotation : As far as my findings go, there is no possibility of a "No GP loss" anymore and you will have to rely on other rotations if you want to maximize the yields (at the expense of your GP) The 5/8 purity ranges from 450 to 499 collectability. I first tried to follow the same pattern as in Heavensward, ie 4/8 purity, but it just doesn't work anymore (perhaps a very low rate ?) Then I focused on reaching 5/8 quality (you get other kinds of aethersands when you reach 6-7-8/8 purity, I'll work on them as soon as I can) Obtained by reducing the fish "Snow Crab" (Ruby of Sea, The adventure, 16,24, spearfishing, medium spear)Įphemeral node in Yanxia from 16-20h : Only Wind crystals and clusters (or Dawnlight with 6/8++ ) (+ + Water crystals & clusters)Įverdeep aethersand : Obtained as fisher, most likely through the fish named "Sweatfish" (To be confirmed)ĭawnlight aethersand : Obtained on nodes (All ephemeral nodes) with Purity 6/8 or more. (+ Lightning crystals & clusters)Įverbright aethersand : Obtained in Yanxia as miner. (+ Earth crystals & clusters) / Obtained in The Lochs, as miner (+ Fire crystals & clusters) / Can be obtained by reducing the fish "False Scad" (Ruby Sea - Sui No Sato, 18,20, Spearfishing, medium spear)ĭawnlight aethersand : Obtained in Azim Steppes (need a recheck), as miner. (+ Ice crystals & clusters)ĭusklight aethersand : Obained in Azim Steppes, as botanist. This is apparently no longer the case, and these 2 materials (of which, Dusklight is the only useful material at the moment) are now zone-locked as follows :Įverborn aethersand : Obtained in The Lochs, as botanist. Here is some of my findings, hope we can fill in the blanks.Ĥh / 8h : Botanist - The Lochs - Torreya branchesĨh / 12h : Botanist - Azim Steppes - Doman Yellowġ2h / 16h : Miner - Azim Steppes - Schorlġ6h / 20h : Botanist - Yanxia - Wind tea leaves.Miner - Yanxia - Perliteįrom what I remember, back in 3.0, we had the possibility to get Duskborne and Dawnborne aethersands from whatever ephemeral node. Edit : Added clusters/ crystals and the second source of Dusklight.Įdit : Added some fish that can be reduced into sands.Įdit 6/28 : Fishing "False Scad" have proved to be the current most efficient way (both in terms of time + amount of items) to get dusklight aethersands.
